There was pure joy and excitement for the book launch and signing for Still Not Enough: Minority Millennials in the Workforce. So many people played a part in making this possible in ways I couldn’t have imagined. Let me tell you… MY CIRCLE IS STRONG!
There are some I inadvertently omitted from my thank you speech that day, but never removed from my heart. Big ups to the parentals for their support and my being. I am nothing without you both (literally ). To some of my borrowed kids (Imani, Jamari, and Javon), thank you all for having my front, back, and side. They never complained and made sure it was good. Also to my siblings who are solid as it comes. They always make sure I’m good because we’re “Dem Jordan Girls” and Boom and Sandra Churin!
To my rollies, Akilah and Ingrid, we’ve been in this too long and there’s no going back! Thanks for always holding me down and for working behind the scenes. Thanks to my Aunt Clara who is selling books like fish plates. I appreciate you for keeping me in line. Shout out to LS’s who didn’t let me go into this weekend without feeling celebrated and loved. From flowers, to cookies, and “refreshments”, y’all made me look for the onions being cut. To my brother and sister cousins, as well as Boney T, thank you all for showing up for me. We’re more than just cousins! To my family who came from near and far to celebrate me. Huge thanks my stylist Madeca for the push to write this book, and to her songstress daughter Madison for the song. Huge thanks for Melika Jackson and crew at The Broughton Event Venue for the awesome signs, food, and decor! It was perfect! To my childhood friend Pammy, to Coach Fry, Mrs. Sumpter a Bruinette legend who raised some legend Bruinettes, my former co-workers Ashley and Pam, to the SCSU student Paul who saw it promoted on IG and came out to support, and for those who thought of me that day through text, calls, well wishes, and prayers… Thank you! If I missed you one way or another, please charge it to my head an not my heart.
I love you all, and there’s nothing you can do about it! Now…buy a book if you haven’t already!
